Cushendall Festival 2022
Cushendall Festival 2022 is scheduled over the 6th – 14th August 2022. Also known as the Heart of the Glens Festival, it’s based in Cushendall in the beautiful Glens of Antrim, on the famous Causeway Coastal route on the Antrim Coast.
The festival provides a fun packed programme of over 100 events over a 9 day period. The large variety of events include the Community Opening Parade showcasing our community spirit with over 20 of our community groups along with local businesses taking part. There are also approximately 90 lorries that join the parade and of course we also have our children in fancy dress and free entertainment at the end of the parade.
The main events include the famous Lurig Challenge Run which is an arduous mountain run up the neighbouring Lurigethan mountain, starting and finishing in the village. The event is limited to 400 participants. There is also a Food Fest night, Adult Treasure Hunt, the ever popular ‘Theme’ fancy dress night (check FB for details), the Vintage Family Fun Day is also an old time favourite. The ‘Dalriada Sounds’ concert has grown from strength to strength and showcases the talent both of the locals and invited guests from other areas with dancing, music, singing and poetry.
